Ghosts of War 1

In the beginning of the book, Ryan and Heather visit Ground Zero and become overwhelmed with feelings of sorrow. I can imagine what it must be like to visit a place like that. If I were to visit there, knowing that so many innocent lives were taken at that location would cause me to feel overtaken by immense feelings of despair and confusion , just as they had. I can sympathize for Ryan and understand his motivation of wanting to join the army after going to Ground Zero. I believe that I too would feel great allegiance and devotion for my country if I were to experience the history and emotion that resonates through a tragic site like this one.
