When Christopher learns that his mother is still alive it is happy and sad to the reader. It is happy because Christopher learns that his mother is still alive and that he can see her again and that is his journey. It is sad because his father who he lives with lied to him that his mother was alive if i was Christopher I would be so upset and confused to learn that my mother was still alive because one my father lied to me and two i would want to see my mother again.
