Jack Gantos was very brave to get on a ship with a man that does not know him or like him. I would never do this because being out on the open water Hamilton could have easily killed him and no one would know for a long time. Jack Gantos is also stupid because he was going on a trip to smuggle hash into America. This  could ruin his life and it did put him in jail.
