Hole in My Life Post 1

During the first section of this book, Jack is presented with many obstacles. His family is constantly moving around, which leaves him with no real friends and no sense of stability. I think that this is the reason that Jack doesn't really recognize the mistakes he's making. His whole life he has been able to get up and leave where he was living and not have to worry about what happened there because he could start all over at his family's next location. As he grew and became more independent, he was still living like he did during his childhood, except the mistakes grew with his age. As he approaches the age where adult life begins, he isn't realizing that he doesn't have to live that way anymore and he can make his own decisions.
