defending jacob 1

I think it was odd when Jacob got charged with the murder of Ben. At the begining of the novel it was stated that Jacob didn't know Ben. That statement mad me think why would jacob would have murder Ben.The charges that Jacob had on him were a huge story changer in the novel. It took a minor charector and changed him to a major character.
