Ghosts of war 2

Ryan often wrote about his encounters with the children in the middle east. One specific one that sticks out to me was when their convoy stopped for a little while and he was able to talk to some of these kids. He tells Ryan how he grows watermelon and offers to give some to him. I was surprised to see this different side of war. The side that is overshadowed by killing and bloodshed. Most people see war as just dieing and destruction but it is really more than that. In this case it was shown by a little boy who is incredibly poor but is still willing to give the little that he has to make others happy. Most people don't know about what goes on in war and it would help them if they read this book.
