I was really surprised to find out about Jess's background. I didn't expect her dad to be an education minister. Because the crazy way she acted, I expected her to come from a dysfunctional, low class family. Then when you find out about her sister Jen it makes more sense. Because of what happened with Jen, Jess's father is extra protective of Jess. I like Jess's idea that her sister is alive, living with a family of her own in America, because it shows she is optimistic. I also like that she thinks that Jen will never come back because it shows she is also realistic.
