The most important scene was when Andy found Jacob's knife. He could have made the decision to give it to the police so they can do testing on it, but instead he threw it out. If the police find the knife in the garbage, it will make Andy and his son both look more suspicious, therefore giving more evidence to Mr. Logiudice.
