I think it was a good idea for them to wait until Valentine's Day to decide if they wanted to commit suicide. This gave them more time to think about what's happening in their lives and maybe something could turn it around. I thought an important part was when JJ decides that they should all take a vacation together because it's yet another attempt that causes tension between them. Jess gets in a fight and is escorted back to her hotel by police, and Martin leaves the hotel after a fight with Jess. Another important scene is when they are on the roof of Topper's house and they try to help a man who is going to commit suicide. He ended up jumping, but all four of them, who were once in the same position, were trying to stop a man from making the choice that they had thought about before. I think it sunk into them the extremity of the choice of committing suicide.
