Defending Jacob 2

Mr. Barber disposed of the knife found in Jacob’s room, which was understandable. That was his son, and he didn’t want to believe that Jacob was a murderer. He didn’t necessarily have a close relationship with his son. Mr. Barber was the narrator, and by hearing his perspective of it all, he seemed to not know who his son really was. Laurie Barber had her doubts about Jacob’s innocence, but didn’t really want to admit it to herself. Mr. Barber did as well, but his feelings were kept inside.
