Defending Jacob 3

The end of the book was the most shocking to me because you never would have guessed that Laurie would kill Jacob. The way the author led up to that scene was very shocking and it led me to read on.  The tone of this scene was definitely sad and any mother would never want to kill their own child. She loved Jacob very much but she knew that it was the right thing to do. She always had her doubts that Jacob was the murderer of Ben Rifkin and after the disappearance of his girlfriend Hope Connors when they were in Jamaica, she definitely knew that her son was a murderer. She was only protecting Jacob from causing more murders and I knew that she was helping Jacob from hurting more people. I believe her intentions for killing Jacob were actually good and she was right for doing it.
