Defending Jacob 2

In my opinion, the most important scene from the book was when Patz ended up confessing towards the end. It was a real shock to me because the evidence towards Jacob made him look very guilty, like the story he wrote on the Cutting Room, the blood on his hands and clothes when he came to school the day of the murder, etc. It was also shocking because Patz left his confession in a note he wrote before he committed suicide. It's also shocking because everyone in the Barber family thought that now Patz confessed, it was all over and they could go back to normal. Even though Patz confessed, it left people thinking that Jacob was still guilty somehow.
