Defending Jacob 3

I just finished Defending Jacob and a lot of thoughts are going through my mind. I do find it very coincidental that the two people who died, Ben and Hope, are the same age as Jake and died under the impression that he had part of their murders. When their family went on a vacation, because their lives got better since Jacob was innocent, Jacob's father mentioned that it is so cool that they are in a whole different country with different people and no one knows about him and his situation of the past. This means no one here knew about the murder so it's impossible to have him framed. I also find it important that he had red stains on his bathing suit, where in the other case he didn't have splatters on him and that made a big deal in the trial. In my opinion, he is totally guilty in the "Hope case" but no one will ever know about Ben's case whether Patz did it or not. As awful as it was for Laurie to commit a murder on her own son, it was probably the best thing to do, even though it was very hypocritical. It was the best thing because of the whole situation, but a lot of unhealthy issues towards the family. Now Jacob and the family don't have to go through everything again. It's probably better to have him die as he did because now he won't rot in four cement walls knowing he will die, but rather die unexpected without the thought of regret.

I wish this book kept going further. I feel like there were a lot of parts left unsaid. Did Laurie get sentenced for murder? How is their marriage? Any thing else about Hope? (etc.) I just wish this book went a little longer, even though the ending was suspenseful.
