Defending Jacob

In the beginning of Defending Jacob I had a hard time understanding Jacob. Until Chapter 19, The Cutting Room when Derek Yoo told the dad everything about Jacob and in school. I was very surprised how the dad didn’t know anything about his son, that he didn’t even know that people called him gay all of the time. I couldn’t imagine being the dad and finding all this out at the same time. After this happened I know understood that Jacob was very closed off from the world and had more mixed feelings about the murder.
