Ghosts of War

When I close my eyes I can see the love a mother and father has for their children. I can imagine all the years of watching their child grow and become a man. But i cant imagine that worst gut feeling your parents get when you tell them you are going to join the army reserve. Ryan Smithson at seventeen was deployed to Iraq as an Army engineer. He had left his family and wife Heather behind back in the States. I feel bad for all the worrying nights he left his family in, the sleepless nights of whether he will return or instead recieve a flag in his honor of death. It makes you truly appreciate who you have in your life.
