The book would be a lot different if Christopher never found
the shirt box with all of the letters from his mother. Most of the story is
about him trying to get to his mothers’ house. Also without him finding the box
he would never have found out that his dad killed Wellington. The whole reason
that his dad confessed to the killing was because Christopher found the box of
letters from his mother. So if
Christopher never found the box then the whole story would have been pointless
and boring.
