A Long Way Down 1

The most important scene so far in this book so far, is when everybody meets for the first time and they are telling each other about their life. I think this is important because everybody is getting to know each other and by doing this it was pushing them to forget about jumping off the tower and taking their lives away. I do not agree with their decision because even though their lives are tough, it does not give them a right to kill themselves and take the short way out of life. Especially when you lie about why you want to kill yourself,  like JJ. If JJ thought his story was dumb about why he wanted to jump off Topper's House then why should he even be doing that in the first place? I was glad that Jess made everybody get off the roof and go help her find Chas because it made them put aside the thought of taking away their lives and maybe even them forgetting to do it. I saw a character change in Jess after she snapped at Maureen. She realized that her attitude was wrong and that is why people got tired of her. She began to understand life more and kind of grew up in a way. Especially after Chas talked to her. Jess didn't seem to care about Chas anymore because it was a waste of time to revolve her whole life around trying to find him and to get an explanation that wasn't really needed. When they go to Martin's house I was shocked to read that Penny was there. After everything that happened between them, I think it was a stupid decision on Martin's part to see her again. But quickly she left after seeing everybody with him, which was a good thing. JJ's scam of CCR was starting to backfire on him because he started to feel bad about why he wanted to kill himself. I am also happy that they decided to push off killing themselves because maybe now they will realize that taking away their lives is a very bad decision.
