I found it interesting that Martin said he was facing what he had done to his family and his life by having an affair with a 15 year old, through suicide. At first this seemed ridiculous, as suicide seemed to be him running away from his problems. But the more the story progressed, the more it seemed that he was facing everything he had done through suicide; he seemed to think that his actions would only be resolved through his death. I am still unsure if he is being a coward or facing up to his actions by attempting suicide.
