A Long Way Down 3

Towards the end of the book, Martin tells everyone about a newspaper article he read saying that some people who want to commit suicide need about 90 days to overcome it. In my opinion, I think that was an interesting idea. It gives them more time to think about their lives and if they think it's worth living. Also, Jess organizes a meeting for the four of them and their families, which causes a lot fights between the people they love but the people who work with Matty also give Maureen an oppurtunity for a job in a newspaper store. Martin and JJ also get a chance to get new jobs after coming home from a trip. Also, Jess apologizes for her behavior and how she acted at the coffee shop. In the end, everything worked out, so they all decided to wait another 6 months to wait and see if they still want to kill themselves. I think it was a good idea to wait because it definitely worked the last time they wanted to kill themselves. Their lives are now stable and sometimes you need extra time to make a decision.
