I think they were scared from seeing the man jump off the building. It made them realize that they probably could never do it themselves. I wouldn't be able to deal with that if I was there the man only took one more step than they did. Jess also showed she cared for the group by making the intervention day although it ended badly for everyone but Maureen and maybe JJ. This kind of makes me want her as a freind. Maureen met the people that cared for her son and JJ got to talk to his ex-best friend and ex-girlfiend but they didn't really make up and they got in a fight. For Jess and Martin they just got into fights with their families. However I feel the worst for Jess because she only got yelled at by her parents for thing she didn't do and Martin actually had a good reason to be yelled at. But, Maureen did get a social life and a job from the night.
