Hole In My Life 1

Wanting to pursue his writing dreams, Jack decides that to write something significant, he should jump right in the middle of racial tension taking place in St. Croix. To do this, he goes to the Black Revolutionary Party headquarters. I highly disagree with the decision that he made to go there. I understand that he wants to be an inspirational writer, and write something with meaning, however to go to the headquarters of black extremists is a very bad decision. He could have easily been harmed or killed by doing this. However, I wasn't surprised that Jack came to the conclusion that this was a good idea to attempt. He seems to be an alcoholic and is a heavy marijuana user. Because he does these things, his judgement is off. This illustrates the mind numbing effects that accompany alcohol and marijuana. This incident shows that he may make poor decisions throughout the rest of the book.
