Hole in my Life 2

I thought it was interesting how Jack Gantos' high school had been a prison. He spent four years of his life there, and then he ended up in a real prison not even 10 years later. Jack used to imagine being in prison, and how tough he would look, while growing up being in the prison-turned-school everyday, but then he would tell himself, "I wasn't going to become a criminal. I was going to be a writer ... I certainly had no interest in becoming a criminal." [pg. 28] It seemed as if it was real life foreshadowing, and the world was some how telling him that prison would be a part of his future, but he hadn't noticed the irony until it was too late.
