 His father did kill the dog after all, just like i thought. These times must be really hard for Chris, who seems to be torn in two between his mother and his father, but he decides in the end to go live with his mother after a while. He goes on a long journey where he almost gets hit by a train, but he survives. His mother and him move into a new house after leaving mr shaears. The story ends with him continually excelling in Math and soon going to a great out of town college while he still receives regular visits from his father.
