The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Post 1

I was surprised to find out that Christopher's dad was lying to him about his mom being dead. I strongly disagree with this action. I understand why his father didn't tell the truth; it was because he was mad at his wife for leaving him but it is not an educated decision. A mother-child relationship is a very important relationship in most people's lives.  Even in the animal world this relationship is critical to survival for many species.  It was a big mistake to take this relationship away especially from a disabled child’s life. His father should have allowed Christopher to write to his mother because it might have relaxed Christopher when he was cross (upset) and it would have given him a close relationship to someone other than his father and teacher.   Also the father should have considered the consequences if Christopher ever found about the lie.  His son would be really mad and angry with his father.  The right thing to do is to just tell the truth. Instead Christopher's father hides the fact that his mother is alive which is a poor decision.
