Defending Jacob 1

Throughout reading the beginning part of Defending Jacob I have already seen some major character changes. For example Jacob Barber has gone from this teenage boy outcast to a person who is being charged with first degree murder  and becoming famous in what he sees is both bad ways and good ways. Also Laurie Barber's character has changed drastically she has gone from being a very social person to becoming an outcast. All of her friends now despises her because of what her son is being accused of doing and she is torn at the fact that her 14 year old son might end up in jail for the rest of his life. She has changed from being an outgoing person to being mentally and physically exhausted.

  1. I find it really interesting that one parent, Jacob's father, really has faith in his son, but his mother has her doubts. It makes the reader wonder what it means to know someone and what someone who seems very typical/average is really capable of.
