In the beginning of the book, Christopher really wants to figure out who murdered his neighbor, Mrs Shear's dog. He was found with the dog late at night and the cops assumed he murdered the dog.
Christopher thought that he was doing the right thing by staying with the dog until the cops came and he never realized that he might be a suspect.
Last night, there was an autistic seven year old boy running around the streets only in his underwear at 10 o'clock. The boy was killed by a car.
These boys didn't realized how much in danger that they may be in, because they think differently and interpret the world in a different way.
I'm trying to put myself in Christopher's place, and understand how he thinks.
