The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time -Post 3

Christopher's journey on the way to his mother's house in London is very eventful. He is constantly surrounded by strangers bumping into him which causes him a lot of stress and confusion. Also, his father is trying to find him, causing many run-ins with police officers. One thing I found strange about the police was that they seemed to take the situation very lightly and weren't very forceful about getting Christopher back to his father. Once he arrives at his mother's, Mr. Shears is very negative about Christopher showing up and does not try and hide his disdain. Eventually, Christopher and his mother move out of Mr Shear's house because of how he feels about Christopher, and they go to live in Swindon where his father tries to reconnect with him.
At this point in the story I noticed a very big change in Christopher's father. He goes from showing his care for his son by sheltering him from the outside world, to understanding that although he doesn't always handle situations in the most logical way, his son is very smart and capable of handling the truth. In the end, his father  gives him a golden retriever puppy so that they can grow their relationship training it, as the puppy itself grows.
Overall, I did like the concept of the book and think that it is very interesting, but it was not for me. The choppiness of the writing made it hard for me to follow and it took a while for the story to become interesting. I would recommend it to others, however, for the unique subject and its messages that anyone can defy the challenges they are faced with and not to judge someone because of a disability they cannot change.
