The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time -Post 2

About halfway through this book, Christopher discovers letters from his mother, who is supposedly dead, addressed to him, dated after her death, hidden in his father's room. He begins to read them and eventually gets caught with them by his father. His father then explains that he killed Wellington out of anger, and that he lied about Christopher's mother dying of a heart attack because he thought his son could not handle the truth. His mother was actually cheating on her husband with their neighbor, Mr. Shears, and she decided to go live with him in London. Even with his disability, Christopher understands that his father lying about his mother's  and Wellington's deaths was wrong and he is scared that his father will hurt him when he gets angry like he hurt Wellington. It is these reasons that cause him to decide to travel to London to go and live with his mother and Mr. Shears.
